Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid recently made a guest appearance on Guy Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, showcasing one of his favorite sandwich spots in the city.
Reid, fresh off guiding the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl, treated Fieri to a visit at Pigwich, a gourmet sandwich joint nestled within a popular Kansas City butcher shop. Excited about the outing, Reid introduced the spot as “the greatest sandwich shop you’ve ever eaten at.”
During the episode, Reid and Fieri joined chef and owner Alex Pope in the kitchen, where they indulged in some hefty burgers. The Chiefs icon eagerly dug into the delicious offerings, earning praise from Fieri for his gusto.
Accompanying Reid were three Kansas City staffers who also savored Pigwich’s delectable meats on camera.
In addition to his TV appearance, Reid’s love for burgers extended to his team’s latest venture. Star players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are set to open ‘1587 Prime,‘ a modern American steakhouse in Kansas City. Mahomes revealed plans to feature an “Andy Reid cheeseburger” on the menu, honoring their esteemed coach.

Reflecting on the team’s recent successes, including three Super Bowl victories under his leadership, Reid remains grounded. At the 101 Awards, he downplayed discussions of the Chiefs becoming a dynasty akin to the New England Patriots, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the fundamentals and not getting swayed by hype.
“For me, it’s back to training camp and the meat and potatoes kinda thing,” Reid remarked. “Every year in the NFL is a new year. Every team is a different team. Don’t get caught up in too much of the fluff.”
Andy Reid is a true American treasure.
