Who knew Amari Bailey and his Mom are Jewish?
Amari Bailey, the former UCLA five-star recruit, was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in the second round, making him the latest Jewish addition to the NBA.
Although it was previously reported by the Forward that Bailey had Jewish heritage, it was unclear if he identified himself as Jewish.
However, his agent, Bernie Lee, confirmed on Tuesday that Bailey does identify as Jewish. Johanna Leia , his famous mother who dated Drake, real name is Johanna Edelberg.
Bailey’s mother and grandmother were present at the draft.

It’s uncertain if Bailey is a practicing Jew, an article in the Forward last year suggested that he is familiar with Jewish customs.
