Alvin Kamara, the star running back for the New Orleans Saints, has received a 3-game suspension as a result of his involvement in an altercation in Las Vegas in late 2022.
Chris Lammons, the recently signed cornerback for the Indianapolis Colts who was also involved in the fight, will also be suspended for the same duration.
However, both players can still participate in preseason activities and are eligible to return to their respective teams’ active rosters on Monday, Sept. 25. Following the announcement, Kamara expressed remorse during a media interview after practice.
“Poor judgment on my end, definitely a bad decision, but I’m a man,” Kamara said. “Anything I’ve ever done in my life, I’ve stood on and I can take accountability for. I can say when I’m wrong, and I was completely wrong. I embarrassed the Saints, I embarrassed my family and my mother, I embarrassed myself, I embarrassed this city and the shield, obviously I embarrassed the NFL.”
He acknowledged that his actions in Vegas showed poor judgment and admitted his mistake.
Kamara took full responsibility for his behavior, recognizing that it reflected negatively on the Saints, his family, himself, the city, and the NFL.
