Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez recently caused a stir on social media with his noticeably bronzed appearance, sparking a flurry of jokes and memes. Despite the online ribbing, the 48-year-old took it all in good humor.
Rodriguez was spotted courtside on Friday at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during the Minnesota Timberwolves-Milwaukee Bucks game. Sporting a tan that could rival a cast member from “Jersey Shore,” the 3-time MVP became the subject of internet mockery for his strikingly sun-kissed complexion.
Adding to the spotlight on Rodriguez’s tan, the ESPN broadcast highlighted him due to his role as a minority owner of the Timberwolves. He even made an appearance for an interview during the second quarter of the game.

Responding to the attention his tan garnered, Rodriguez explained on Saturday that he had simply fallen asleep under the sun while on vacation. “Alright everybody, I know I’m looking dark. But being Dominican and enjoying a vacation, I may have dozed off under the sun. So, let’s all relax,” Rodriguez conveyed on X, concluding with a calming message in Spanish.
Unfortunately for Rodriguez, his day didn’t get any brighter as his team, the Timberwolves, fell short in a 112-107 loss to the Bucks.
