Reports have emerged suggesting that the San Francisco 49ers received interest from a prominent AFC team regarding a potential trade involving their star wide receiver, Deebo Samuel.
According to a disclosure by Jason La Canfora of The Washington Post and “Inside Access” on 105.7 The Fan, the Baltimore Ravens reached out to the 49ers to inquire about Samuel’s availability for a trade.
However, the 49ers conveyed to the Ravens that Samuel is not currently available, at least not at this juncture.

At 28 years old, Samuel still has two seasons remaining on the three-year, $71.55 million extension he secured during the 2022 offseason.
With the 49ers facing salary cap constraints and their fellow standout wide receiver, Brandon Aiyuk, entering the final year of his rookie contract, speculation has arisen about General Manager John Lynch’s potential willingness to deal one of the team’s key offensive assets.
Despite Samuel expressing a desire for a trade following a breakout season in 2022, the 49ers exhibited patience and ultimately negotiated a new contract with him.
The Ravens have already made a significant addition to their offense by signing two-time rushing champion Derrick Henry to a two-year deal. Given Samuel’s versatility (4,122 receiving yards and 1,007 career rushing yards), he could offer valuable contributions to a Lamar Jackson-led offense.
If the 49ers were to entertain offers for Samuel, they would likely need to secure a high-quality replacement. After all, parting ways with a player of Samuel’s caliber would pose challenges for the team’s aspirations of Super Bowl success.
