Blake Lively humorously disclosed her “secret sports career” recently.
The 36-year-old actress playfully claimed to be a “baseball player on the side” while sharing a video clip on her Instagram Stories. The clip, originally posted by SportsNet New York, featured a mix-up by sports commentator Gary Cohen who mistakenly called Cleveland Guardians pitcher Ben Lively “Blake Lively” during a game against the New York Mets in Cleveland.
“Well. Cats outta the bag,” Lively quipped on her story. “I’m a highly professional baseball player on the side.”

In the amusing video, Cohen said, “Blake Lively made his first appearance of the year for the Reds against the Mets…” as a photoshopped image of Blake wearing a Guardians cap appeared, highlighting the commentator’s slip-up.
The channel SNY TV joined in the fun, adding, “Was that Ben Lively making the start yesterday against the Mets…or was it someone else? ? Slip of the tongue from Gare ?.”
Ben Lively also shared Blake’s playful comments on his own Instagram Stories, joking about the frequent mix-up, “The amount of times this has happened ?,” and tagging the actress.
Aside from her tongue-in-cheek claim of a baseball career, Blake Lively is eagerly anticipated in her upcoming film, “It Ends with Us,” based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 bestselling novel. The film, releasing on August 9, marks her return to the big screen after four years. In it, she plays Lily, a graduate who relocates to a new city and experiences a tumultuous romance with a man named Ryle.
Discussing the role, Blake told PEOPLE in April, “Lily resonated with an enormous amount of people, as the success of the book made clear. Stepping into a character who’s had such a meaningful impact is an honor to take on.”
She added, “I loved Lily, and I hope that love is felt by those who care about her like I do, and also those who are getting to know her for the first time in this film.”
