It appears highly likely that the NY Jets will sign free-agent running back Dalvin Cook.
Former Jets fullback Tony Richardson, when interviewed on Saturday, hinted that Cook would be joining the team.
Richardson, a 16-year NFL veteran, claimed to have “insider information” that Cook was headed to the Jets.
He confidently stated that Cook “will be a Jet for sure,” speaking as if it was a sure thing.
Although Richardson claimed he wasn’t breaking any news, he expressed strong belief in the Jets’ signing of Cook.

This statement came just ahead of Cook’s official visit with the team on Sunday, where he is expected to undergo a physical and, assuming all goes well, finalize the deal with the Jets. According to Richardson, it is a definite occurrence. Cook will soon be part of the Jets roster.
The rumors connecting the Jets to Cook have been circulating for months, with the Jets being the top contenders to sign him. While Cook confirmed on Saturday that he had no other visits planned, he expressed excitement about potentially joining the Jets, stating that they would be a “super team” with him on board. At this stage, if Cook does not end up signing with the Jets, it would be a surprising turn of events and a notable misdirection in franchise history. Barring any unforeseen developments, it seems almost certain that Cook will join the team.
The Jets are currently seeking additional running back depth behind Breece Hall, who is recovering from a torn ACL. Even if Hall is ready for the start of the season, the Jets want to secure strong insurance behind him. If they wish to gradually increase Hall’s workload as the season progresses, having someone like Cook to share the load early on would be beneficial.
Last season, replacements such as Michael Carter and Zonovan Knight struggled to fill Hall’s shoes, and rookie Israel Abanikanda is unproven. Cook brings both experience and production to the Jets, despite a decline in efficiency.
Considering the assertions made by Tony Richardson and various reports, it appears likely that Dalvin Cook will become the newest member of the New York Jets by the end of the day. Fans should prepare for this exciting addition to the team.
