Rodgers is on the road to recovery, and the star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, maintains confidence that he will receive clearance to return to play during the 2023 season. Recent reports suggest that Rodgers could be back on the practice field sooner than anticipated, potentially within days rather than weeks.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, there is a possibility that Rodgers will participate in practice leading up to New York’s Week 13 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Rapoport noted, “There’s a chance that he practices this week. That has been his hope. Jets coaches were unclear if it’s actually going to happen. I’d say more likely the next week, but his return — to practice at least — is coming.”
Rodgers aims to make a comeback on December 24 when the Jets host the Washington Commanders. While the Jets have struggled, falling to a 4-7 record with a recent loss to the Miami Dolphins, Rodgers appears motivated by factors beyond playoff contention.

Suffering a torn Achilles on September 11, Rodgers underwent the same “speed bridge” procedure that running back Cam Akers had before the 2021 season. Akers, with the Los Angeles Rams at the time, was cleared to play five months later.
If Rodgers resumes practice next week and takes the field on December 24, he will surpass Akers’ rehab timeline significantly. Rodgers seems determined to prove something by attempting a comeback this season.
