Although Aaron Judge is not a member of the Texas Rangers, he made American League history at Globe Life Field in 2022, cementing his legacy with a record-breaking moment that was honored in the stadium’s stands. A plaque was installed at Section 31, Row 1, Seat 3 to commemorate Judge’s 62nd home run of the 2022 season, which set a new American League record.
However, ahead of the New York Yankees’ recent visit to Globe Life Field for a three-game series against the Rangers, the plaque was discovered missing. All that remained was the cement work that once secured the plaque in place, leaving a glaring void where the tribute to Judge’s historic achievement once stood.
This isn’t the first time the plaque has been stolen. According to Justin Shackil of the YES Network, the commemorative marker has been swiped twice now.
After this second theft, Rangers personnel informed Shackil that the organization has decided against installing a third plaque, opting instead to leave the site unmarked.

Judge’s 62nd home run in 2022 was a momentous occasion, as it broke the American League record for most home runs in a single season. The previous record of 61 home runs, set by Roger Maris in 1961, had stood for over six decades. Judge’s achievement was a monumental moment in baseball history, and the decision to commemorate it at Globe Life Field, where the record was set, was fitting.
However, with the theft of the plaque for a second time, it appears that Judge’s historic moment will no longer be physically marked at the stadium. The disappearance of the plaque is a disappointing turn of events for both fans and the Rangers organization, as it was a symbol of one of the most significant milestones in recent baseball history.
Despite this, Judge’s record-breaking season will continue to be remembered by fans, even if the physical tribute at Globe Life Field is no longer present.
