During Monday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone had a noticeable outburst in the eighth inning.
Frustrated with home plate umpire Laz Diaz’s strike zone after a called strikeout by Anthony Volpe, Boone stormed out of the dugout and confronted Diaz.
In a heated exchange, Boone even went as far as drawing a line in the dirt and mimicking Diaz’s motion of punching out a batter.
This incident marked Boone’s sixth ejection of the season.

At the time of the altercation, the Yankees were trailing 2-1.
However, the White Sox extended their lead further during the inning when Andrew Benintendi’s sacrifice fly and Luis Robert Jr.’s double resulted in three runs, giving Chicago a commanding 5-1 advantage.
The White Sox ultimately won the game with that same score.
The Yankees, who had a 58-54 record going into the game, were hoping for a win to stay in contention for the final American League Wild Card spot.
Prior to this match, they had split their series with the Houston Astros and lost two out of three games against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Meanwhile, the White Sox had their own share of issues as shortstop Tim Anderson had been suspended for six games due to a brawl with Cleveland Guardians’ third baseman Jose Ramirez.
Additionally, White Sox manager Pedro Grifol and third-base coach Mike Sarbaugh were both suspended for their involvement in the altercation.
