Here’s something you don’t see everyday.
The New York Yankees took on the Oakland Athletics on Monday, but it didn’t last long for Yankees manager Aaron Boone.
Just two batters into the game, Boone got ejected by home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt after a fan yelled something at him.
Wendlestedt apparently thought it came from Boone which led to the quick hook.
It starts in the first when Wendlestedt threatens Boone that he’s going to be tossed if he “says another word.”
This came after A’s leadoff hitter Esteury Ruiz was hit by a pitch to open the game.
Boone seemingly backs off following Wendlestedt’s explanation of how the play went down.
However, just seconds later Boone is ejected after a fan screams something from the stands.
A livid Boone tries to explain that he “didn’t say a f****** word,” but Wendlestedt wasn’t having it.
The quick hook for Boone didn’t help the Yankees in this one as they fell to the Athletics 2-0.
Despite the loss, Boone has to be pleased with how his team has performed thus far this year as they are currently one of the betters teams in the MLB with a 15-8 record.
