Capital One’s The Match VIII is scheduled to begin on Thursday evening, featuring NFL stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce competing against NBA counterparts Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
While Mahomes and Curry have participated in previous The Match events, Kelce and Thompson are first-time participants. The event will be held at the Wynn Golf Club, which has hosted two previous The Match events.
The course is a championship-caliber par-70 course with water hazards and other challenges.
The format of The Match VIII will be a scramble, where each team takes a tee shot and selects the best shot to start from. Each participant will then play their own ball until holing out, with the best score counting at the end of each hole. The event will benefit the No Kid Hungry charity.
