Despite being embroiled in legal issues related to the Mississippi welfare scandal, ex-NFL quarterback Brett Favre has spoken out against the transgender community. In an appearance on Jason Whitlock’s “Fearless” podcast, Favre expressed his lack of understanding and support for transgender individuals.
He questioned the idea of someone who identifies as a girl using a girls’ bathroom and participating in women’s sports. Favre speculated that many athletes share his views but are hesitant to speak out for fear of harming their careers. He also praised former President Donald Trump during the interview. Favre’s comments generated significant controversy on social media.
“To think that a young man who identifies as a girl, I don’t understand it — just hear me out — can go into a girl’s bathroom and use the restroom with girls, and for us to think that’s OK, I think is wrong. I’m sorry…” Favre said on the podcast according to Fox News. “I just think some things we’re allowing in this country are beyond belief… Some of the thoughts and beliefs we’re seeing are crazy.”
“I think maybe vast majority are afraid of what it’ll do to their career,” Favre said. “And it’s not affecting them directly. Not yet, at least. Who knows where this country’s going? It may affect them somewhere down the road. Is it too late? I don’t know. It’s scary.”
I think dudes that misuse Mississippi welfare state funds should sit this one out.
