Morant was captured waving a handgun during an Instagram Live video, just two months after a similar incident. As a result, he was suspended by the Memphis Grizzlies, and he issued an apology, which was scrutinized by fans who accused him of using an artificial intelligence (AI) generator.
Sharpe also criticized Morant’s apology, highlighting that it did not sound like him.
The NBA suspended Morant, including time served, for the initial incident, and he is expected to face further consequences for his repeated actions. Commissioner Adam Silver expressed his disappointment and shame and warned Morant of the potential consequences of his actions. The league is yet to announce a punishment for Morant, but he is expected to face a significant suspension.
