The Cleveland Browns or Los Angeles Chargers are possible landing spots for him according to a league insider, with the Chargers being a natural fit as Elliott’s former Cowboys offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, is now their offensive coordinator.
“The fact that his former offensive coordinator in Dallas, Kellen Moore, is now running the entire offense with the Chargers makes a lot of sense,” a source added.
The source continues:
“Elliott, paired with Chargers starting running back Austin Ekeler, would give the Chargers arguably one of the most lethal running back tandems in all of football – one that would feature elusiveness, power and speed.”
Although Elliott’s playing time aspirations may make it difficult to find a team, he could potentially be a good fit as a secondary running back if he is willing to accept a lower contract. Both the Chargers and Browns need a running back that can support their star players, and Elliott could potentially fill that gap. However, it is true that Elliott is no longer the dominant player he used to be, and other teams have already come to that realization.
