LSU gymnast and social media sensation Olivia Dunne joined fellow New Jersey natives at Prudential Center on Monday night, cheering on the New Jersey Devils as they faced off against the New York Rangers. Dunne, who is home for the holidays, was seen in the stands wearing a red and black Danil Misyul jersey, blending seamlessly with the sea of passionate Devils fans.
The rivalry game drew plenty of excitement, with the Devils boasting a strong 22-11-3 record and the Rangers entering at 16-16-1.
A Festive Weekend in New York
The NHL outing came shortly after a celebratory weekend in New York City for Dunne, who recently graduated from LSU. The 22-year-old marked the milestone with a night out alongside her boyfriend, MLB pitcher Paul Skenes, and her sister Julz.
Dunne shared glimpses of the evening on social media, showing the group enjoying Italian cuisine at Cucina Alba in Chelsea. Later, they posed for festive photos in front of the iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
Julz Dunne also posted snaps from a group outing at Common Country, a popular bar in Kips Bay, highlighting the lively celebration.
Looking Ahead to Her Final Season
Although Dunne has completed her academic journey, she remains focused on her gymnastics career. She will return to Baton Rouge in the spring to compete in her fifth and final season with the LSU Tigers, having exercised her extra year of NCAA eligibility.
Her decision to return for one more season follows LSU’s historic NCAA gymnastics title in 2023, a first for the program. The Tigers dominated throughout the season and capped it off with a national championship, bringing immense pride to Baton Rouge.
Dunne announced her plans to return for a fifth year in July, sharing the news with her millions of fans via a video on social media.
A Season of Success and Celebration
From her team’s NCAA championship to her personal milestones, including graduation and her growing influence in the NIL era, Dunne has had an incredible year.
Her decision to spend the holidays enjoying time with loved ones and supporting local sports is just another example of her down-to-earth approach to life amid her rising fame.
As she gears up for her final gymnastics season, fans eagerly anticipate seeing how she will close out her collegiate career. In the meantime, her time in New Jersey has been a perfect blend of family, friends, and festive celebrations.
