Arizona Cardinals cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting is setting the record straight about his personal life, shutting down online speculation that he’s the new man in Bobbi Althoff’s life. The 27-year-old influencer and podcaster, who announced her divorce from husband Cory in February, recently teased a new relationship with a short TikTok video that sent the internet into detective mode.
In the TikTok clip, Althoff, 27, can be seen embracing and kissing a mystery man, although his face remains concealed. To add to the intrigue, she also posted an Instagram Story—now expired—that appeared to show her hand intertwined with another’s.
The combination of these subtle hints sparked widespread speculation that the individual could be Murphy-Bunting. Fans cited the NFL player’s previous public interaction with Althoff as potential evidence.
However, Murphy-Bunting took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night to refute the rumors with a succinct declaration: “That’s not me.”

Althoff, who first garnered widespread attention online for her humorous and candid content, has yet to respond to Murphy-Bunting’s denial. With the NFL star out of the running, fans and internet sleuths are back to square one, still eager to uncover the identity of the man in Althoff’s video.
Popular TikToker @amandachristine_1 had initially pointed the finger at either Murphy-Bunting or former NFL offensive lineman Cedric Ogbuehi. In follow-up posts, Ogbuehi himself clarified that he is not Althoff’s new beau, and with Murphy-Bunting’s denial, that theory has also fallen apart.
This isn’t the first time Althoff and Murphy-Bunting have been linked. In July, the podcaster publicly thanked the cornerback for helping her during what she described as a “scary” night in Nashville. TMZ captured footage of him carrying an apparently passed-out Althoff into an SUV after the two left a bar.
The following day, Althoff posted a photo with Murphy-Bunting on Instagram, expressing her gratitude.
But while this interaction showcased Murphy-Bunting’s chivalrous side, it’s now clear that his involvement in Althoff’s love life didn’t go beyond that evening’s events.
As of now, the identity of Althoff’s mystery man remains a well-kept secret. Still, it’s evident that the mother of two—who was married to her ex-husband Cory for four years and shares daughters Luca, 3, and Isla, 1—has moved on since finalizing her divorce earlier this year.
