Travis Kelce has embraced many new interests since he began dating pop sensation Taylor Swift, but there’s one thing he still won’t budge on—watching the romantic Christmas classic, “Love Actually.” Despite his willingness to explore Swift’s world, Kelce has made it clear that he won’t be giving this particular movie a chance anytime soon.
On the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, co-hosted by Travis and his brother Jason Kelce, the two were joined by a special guest—Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce. During her call, Kylie made a playful request, asking Jason to finally sit down and watch “Love Actually” with her. The 2003 film, starring Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, and Keira Knightley, is beloved by many, especially fans of romantic comedies, and is often considered a holiday staple.
However, it turns out that both Kelce brothers have been avoiding the movie for years. Kylie took the opportunity to put some pressure on Jason, hoping to convince him that it was time to finally watch the classic. “‘Love Actually’ is a tremendous movie that you can really sit down with your significant other and enjoy,” Kylie said. “It’s not like one of your significant others hasn’t asked you to watch it multiple times and you said no every time. So this would be a great excuse to get you to watch it.”
Kylie’s plea didn’t sit well with Travis, who quickly made his stance clear. “Yeah, don’t [expletive] torture me; torture your husband,” Travis responded with a laugh. “I’m an innocent bystander here, Ky. Don’t [expletive] come for me.” It was evident that Travis was in no mood to be roped into watching a movie he’s been dodging for years.
Jason, for his part, came to his brother’s defense, doubling down on the refusal. “I think we can both probably agree we’re not doing ‘Love Actually,'” Jason said, making it clear that neither Kelce brother was interested in the film, despite Kylie’s best efforts.
While Travis Kelce may be unwilling to watch “Love Actually,” there are plenty of other holiday films that could be more to his taste. If romantic comedies aren’t his thing, there’s always the Hallmark-inspired “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story,” which, believe it or not, drew inspiration from Kelce’s real-life romance with Taylor Swift. The Hallmark movie offers a festive take on a football player falling in love during the holiday season, clearly nodding to Kelce and Swift’s high-profile relationship.
If Kelce prefers to avoid romantic storylines altogether, he could opt for a classic like “Home Alone”—a film that’s always a hit during the holiday season—or even a newer favorite such as “The Holdovers.” There are no shortages of holiday options for Travis to enjoy, even if he continues to dodge “Love Actually.”

With the holiday season now in full swing, it remains to be seen if Travis Kelce will eventually relent and give the much-loved Christmas movie a try. Fans of the couple are certainly eager to see if Swift might convince him to change his mind, but for now, it looks like “Love Actually” remains firmly off the table.
As for Kelce and Swift’s plans for Christmas, it seems they are preparing for a cozy celebration together.
According to US Weekly, the couple is expected to spend the holidays surrounded by family. “Swift plans on hosting Christmas with her and Kelce’s families and wants to start the New Year on a low-key, restful note,” a source told the magazine.
After the holidays, Swift is reportedly planning to get back to work on a new album, with tentative plans for another tour—albeit on a smaller scale than her recent Eras Tour—in 2026.
Of course, it’s not all holiday festivities for Kelce, as he has work obligations on Christmas Day. The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in a highly anticipated matchup.
Balancing the holidays with game preparations is nothing new for Kelce, and he’s sure to make the most of both the game and the time spent with Swift and their families.
Whether or not Travis Kelce ever sits down to watch “Love Actually,” one thing is clear—he and Taylor Swift are making the most of their time together this holiday season, embracing new traditions and enjoying each other’s company, all while keeping a busy NFL schedule.
And maybe, just maybe, one day he’ll finally give in to the Christmas spirit and give the rom-com classic a shot.
