Just over a year after her ex-wife Ashlyn Harris filed for divorce, former soccer star Ali Krieger has confirmed she has found love again. The 40-year-old recently revealed that she is in a relationship with Scottish soccer player Jen Beattie, making the announcement through a series of heartfelt posts on social media.
On November 28, Krieger took to her Instagram Stories to share the news with her followers. The former U.S. Women’s National Team (USWNT) player reposted a photo originally shared by Beattie, 33, on her own Instagram Stories.
The picture showed the two athletes laughing and enjoying red wine together, with Beattie captioning it, “Thankful for you. Happy Thanksgiving my love @alikrieger ??.” In response, Krieger shared the image on her Stories, adding, “You have no idea… ??????,” confirming their romantic relationship.
The public reveal comes months after Krieger hinted that she was seeing someone new.
During a July 24 appearance on the “She Pivots” podcast, Krieger shared that she was dating again, though she chose not to disclose her partner’s identity at the time. “I’m dating a wonderful person right now, who I really, really like. I’m so grateful that we met,” she said during the podcast. Krieger also opened up about needing time to heal after her divorce, emphasizing that she did not rush into a new relationship.

“I didn’t jump right into anything because I needed to grieve the end of my marriage,” Krieger explained. She also noted that focusing on soccer and completing her playing career helped her process her emotions. “It gave me time from when [Ashlyn] left to really focus on soccer and finishing my career, but also on healing my wounds and taking care of myself,” the retired soccer star continued. “Now, eight or nine months down the road, I feel like I’ve finally had the time to grieve and work through all those feelings.”
The divorce between Krieger and Harris was finalized after Harris filed in September 2023, which was confirmed via the Seminole County Clerk’s website.
The former couple shares two children together: daughter Sloane and son Ocean. They tied the knot on December 28, 2019, and were married for nearly four years before going their separate ways. Since the split, Harris, 39, has also moved on and is currently dating actress Sophia Bush.
Krieger’s new partner, Jen Beattie, is an accomplished soccer player in her own right. Beattie played for Arsenal in the English Premier League and has been a prominent figure in women’s soccer for years. Before her relationship with Krieger, Beattie was romantically linked to Amber Gill, a former winner of the reality TV show “Love Island: U.K.”
In an interview with the Mail Online in March 2023, Gill spoke positively about her relationship with Beattie, saying, “I just enjoy what I do now, I’m having fun, I’m in a good relationship, and that’s all I care about.”
