Travis Kelce is still reeling from the burglary that occurred at his Kansas City mansion last month, and he remains determined to recover one of his most prized possessions—his Super Bowl jersey. The Kansas City Chiefs star was robbed in a break-in believed to have been orchestrated by a sophisticated international crime ring, and he has been taking steps to ensure it never happens again.
Kelce is ramping up security at his $6 million property, installing a new state-of-the-art alarm system to protect his home.
With his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, planning to spend more time with him through the winter—once she wraps up the final dates of her Eras Tour in Canada this December—the need for extra precautions has become even more pressing. Kelce, meanwhile, will be playing through the holiday season for the Chiefs, meaning his home will need heightened security in his absence.
According to The Sun, Kelce remains deeply upset over the break-in, particularly over the loss of his Super Bowl jersey, which holds significant sentimental value for him. A source quoted by the publication described Kelce as “angry” and “very upset” and noted that the Chiefs tight end is taking extra steps to secure his property. “Travis is going to set up a new alarm system not to be a target of a possible burglary, as he is doing some work in the house and will have more of Taylor’s stuff in there, too,” the source said.
While Kelce has already recovered a luxury watch that was stolen, which was later found in Providence, Rhode Island, it is the jersey from his first Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers in 2020 that he is most desperate to get back. “That first Super Bowl shirt is essential for him,” the source continued. “It’s a reminder of one of the biggest achievements in his career and life so far, and he hopes to get it back.”

The burglary saw Kelce lose more than just sentimental items—he also lost $20,000 in cash and $100,000 worth of jewelry.
The incident is currently being investigated by the FBI, and authorities reportedly believe a South American crime ring is responsible for targeting the homes of high-profile individuals. The thieves who broke into Kelce’s mansion are thought to be part of a wider underworld organization, prompting law enforcement to urge other players to take extra precautions at their homes.
Kelce wasn’t the only member of the Chiefs to be targeted. His teammate, star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was also a victim of a similar burglary. Burglars reportedly targeted Mahomes’ property in Belton, Missouri, around midnight on October 6.
Kelce’s home, located just across the state line in Kansas, was broken into the following day, on October 7, while the Chiefs were playing against the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium. Notably, Taylor Swift was in attendance at the game, cheering Kelce on from the stands.
During the break-in at Mahomes’ residence, the thieves are believed to have stolen valuable jewelry and designer bags belonging to Mahomes’ wife, Brittany. Speaking about the burglary, Mahomes expressed his frustration, stating, “Obviously, it’s frustrating. It’s disappointing. Obviously something that you don’t want to have happen to really anybody. But obviously yourself.” The break-ins have left both Mahomes and Kelce on edge, with the NFL stars taking extra steps to secure their homes and protect their families.
Despite the turmoil off the field, Kelce and Mahomes have remained focused on their performance for the Chiefs. The Super Bowl champions narrowly edged out the Carolina Panthers with a 30-27 victory over the weekend, moving their record to an impressive 10-1 for the season.
The Chiefs now prepare for a shorter turnaround, as they get ready to host the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on Friday.
A win against the Raiders could secure Kansas City a spot in the playoffs, depending on how other results shake out over the weekend.
The Chiefs have their sights set on another Super Bowl run, and both Kelce and Mahomes are determined to put the distractions of the recent burglaries behind them as they continue their pursuit of another championship.
For Kelce, the hope is not only to lead his team to victory but also to recover the treasured items stolen from his home—particularly his first Super Bowl jersey, which represents one of the defining moments of his career.
As he and Swift look to spend more time together through the winter, Kelce is ensuring that his home will be a safe and secure place for both of them.
