NBA legend Scottie Pippen may be best known for his six championship titles with the Chicago Bulls, but since retiring from his illustrious basketball career, he has embarked on a new journey—this time in the world of fashion. The 59-year-old, who hung up his sneakers in 2004, is now swapping the hardwood court for the runway, with plans to launch his very own clothing line.
Pippen has teamed up with his daughter, Sophia Pippen, to create a menswear brand called ‘Unguarded.’ The father-daughter duo have collaborated with streetwear designer Cassius Smith to develop the collection, which promises to offer high-end apparel featuring “classic silhouettes with modern thinking,” according to TMZ. The brand aims to blend timeless fashion elements with contemporary flair, offering pieces that elevate everyday basics.
“With Unguarded,” Pippen said, “we’ve been able to elevate the basics and escape the typical streetwear stereotypes. It’s completely unexpected how incredible this line is.” The line represents a significant departure from Pippen’s basketball persona, showcasing his versatility and passion for a completely different industry.
Pippen, Sophia, and their team reportedly began working on the collection roughly 11 months ago, with plans to release it to the market next summer. The collection is expected to blend streetwear and classic styles, aiming for a unique niche in the competitive menswear industry.

Sophia has given fans a sneak peek at the upcoming clothing line by posting several behind-the-scenes photos from a promotional photoshoot. “BTS #Unguarded coming soon,” she wrote on Instagram, accompanied by shushing emojis to build anticipation. In the photos, Sophia is seen modeling alongside hip-hop and rap artist Ju$tice, who is also featured in the brand’s promotional materials.
One of the photos shows Sophia wearing a baggy navy sweater paired with washed-blue denim straight-leg jeans and retro rectangular sunglasses—a look reminiscent of 90s street fashion. Another image captures her in a blue varsity jacket with red and yellow trimming, while Ju$tice models matching shorts. The musician is also seen showcasing a number of other chic looks, including a two-tone cream and beige “shacket” (a hybrid of a shirt and a jacket) and a blue collared jacket.
The collection leans heavily into 90s vintage-inspired aesthetics, a theme that resonates with Pippen’s own era of NBA dominance and his daughter Sophia’s sense of style.
Sophia, who is just 15 years old, has already made strides in the modeling industry, following in her mother Larsa Pippen’s footsteps. According to Marca, she recently signed a deal with luxury fashion brand Oscar de la Renta, demonstrating her burgeoning influence in the fashion world.
The clothing line’s name, ‘Unguarded,’ is a nod to Pippen’s 2021 memoir of the same title, in which he famously expressed his frustrations with former Chicago Bulls teammate Michael Jordan. The memoir was notable for its candid insights into Pippen’s career and his time with the Bulls, and it appears that the name has taken on new life with this fashion venture.
Sophia is one of the four children Scottie shares with his ex-wife Larsa Pippen. The couple, who married in 1997, have three sons in addition to Sophia: Scotty Jr., Preston, and Justin. Larsa and Scottie had an on-and-off relationship, initially splitting in 2016 before reconciling and ultimately parting ways for good in 2018. Their divorce was finalized in December 2021 after 24 years of marriage.
The divorce settlement included financial arrangements, with Larsa reportedly being awarded a lump sum from Pippen’s retirement plan.
According to RadarOnline, she was recognized as an “alternate payee” of his Chicago Bulls 401k Savings Plan Trust, entitling her to “fifty percent” of whatever was in the account close to the date of their separation. Their official date of separation was listed as November 3, 2016.
Scottie Pippen’s venture into the fashion industry, alongside his daughter Sophia, marks a new chapter in his post-basketball life. It’s a move that underscores his willingness to explore new opportunities beyond sports and highlights the close bond he shares with his daughter.
Together, they’re bringing something fresh to the menswear market—something that reflects both his iconic past and a vision for the future. With Unguarded, Pippen hopes to make his mark in the fashion world, just as he did on the basketball court.
