The LSU Tigers had a rough outing against the Florida Gators, losing 27-16 in Gainesville. With the defeat, Brian Kelly’s team fell to a 6-4 record, all but ending their hopes of making the College Football Playoff. For Brian Kelly, who took over the LSU program after leaving Notre Dame, the transition has been anything but smooth, as he has struggled to elevate the Tigers to the championship level expected in Baton Rouge.
The frustrations of the season appear to be taking a toll on Kelly’s family as well.
Grace Kelly, who attended Saturday’s game at The Swamp, made her feelings about the experience quite clear on social media. While standing on the field at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, she took a moment to criticize Florida’s fan base.
“I just wanted to come on here and say, whoever said Florida fans suck, they were right,” Kelly said in her video. She didn’t hold back, adding, “These guys are (expletives).”
It’s not uncommon for rivalry games to bring out strong emotions, and Grace’s comments certainly reflect the frustrations she felt during the game. Her remarks quickly spread across social media, drawing reactions from fans on both sides of the rivalry.
Florida fans, known for their boisterous support at The Swamp, may even take her comments as a badge of honor, while LSU supporters empathized with the sentiment after a tough loss.
As for Brian Kelly, the LSU head coach was focused on his team and their response to the difficult season. Following the loss, he addressed the players with a clear and simple message—they need to fight or step aside.
“This is a simple exercise of do you want to fight or not?” Kelly said after the Tigers suffered their fourth loss of the season. “Do you want to fight and take responsibility as coaches and players that we’re not playing well and we’re struggling right now?”
Kelly acknowledged the challenges the team was facing and emphasized the need for unity. “There’s a rough spot here that we have to fight through, and we have to do it together,” he continued.

The loss to Florida marked LSU’s first defeat against the Gators since 2018, a tough pill to swallow for a program with such high expectations. Despite the setbacks, Kelly remains confident that his team has what it takes to turn things around.
He emphasized that the focus going forward will be on finding players who are willing to give their all on the field.
“We’re going to put guys on the field that are going to fight and do everything they can do to correct where we are right now, and that is struggling with consistent execution,” Kelly said. “I think we’ve seen it enough to know we have to be better as coaches and players.”
The Tigers still have a chance to salvage the season, with two winnable games left on the schedule against Vanderbilt and Oklahoma. If LSU can secure victories in their final two matchups, they would finish the regular season at 8-4 and earn a spot in a bowl game.
While it’s far from the championship contention that LSU fans had hoped for, ending the season on a positive note could provide momentum heading into next year.
Grace Kelly’s outspoken criticism of Florida fans might have captured the frustrations of a disappointing season, but for Brian Kelly and his team, the focus remains on the future and the opportunity to end the year on a high note.
The Tigers have a lot to prove, and the next two games will be a chance to show that they can fight through adversity and come out stronger.
