Former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick has entered the political spotlight, offering her thoughts on Donald Trump’s recent criticisms of Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump, at a campaign event in Miami, took aim at Harris for taking time off shortly before the election.
His remarks were scathing, calling Harris “lazy” and a “radical left lunatic,” while claiming she’s “further left than Bernie Sanders or Pocahontas.” Patrick responded by sharing Trump’s comments on her Instagram Story, adding, “God I love when people just say what’s on their mind.” Her comment highlights her appreciation for unfiltered speech, a quality she’s shown admiration for before.
In recent months, Patrick’s political engagement has grown considerably. She has expressed support for other controversial figures, like Andrew Tate, and voiced her respect for individuals who speak their mind, even if their views are polarizing.
Earlier this year, Patrick shared her evolving interest in politics, which started after she attended America Fest in Phoenix last December, where conservative speakers like Tucker Carlson and Donald Trump Jr. spoke.
Patrick has since identified herself as “slightly right of center,” drawing from Republican and Independent perspectives, particularly valuing leaders who emphasize integrity and free speech.

Despite her relatively recent involvement in politics, Patrick has admitted to a limited voting history, disclosing that she had never voted in a presidential election before 2024.
However, her outlook changed with the upcoming election, citing the importance of electing a leader she believes can manage the country effectively. “The person that runs this country should ultimately be running it very much like a business,” Patrick said, explaining her support for Trump as a candidate with extensive business experience.
She has now confirmed casting her vote for Trump, reinforcing her commitment to her new political stance.
