A new chapter in the history of the Las Vegas Raiders began with a moment of celebration as legendary quarterback Tom Brady officially stepped into his role as part-owner of the franchise. After months of delays and negotiations, Brady’s ownership stake was unanimously approved by NFL owners on Tuesday, marking a significant milestone for both the seven-time Super Bowl champion and the Raiders organization.
The following morning, Brady made his first appearance at the Raiders’ headquarters, where he was greeted with an enthusiastic reception from team staff and executives.
Accompanied by Raiders majority owner Mark Davis, Brady walked through the facility’s glass doors wearing a grey top and black pants, as the building erupted in applause. Raiders employees filled the lobby, spanning three stories, to commemorate the special occasion.
In a video posted on the Raiders’ social media accounts, Brady can be seen taking a moment to acknowledge the warm welcome, smiling and exchanging a hug with Davis, who appeared equally excited to have Brady on board. Brady later addressed the crowd with a microphone, although the contents of his speech have not yet been publicly shared.

Shortly after his ownership became official, Brady expressed his excitement in a statement, saying, “I’m incredibly humbled and excited to have been unanimously approved as an owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Throughout my NFL career, I’ve learned that at its core, football is a game of teamwork, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The Raiders franchise, and the city of Las Vegas embody these same values, and I’m honored to become part of that story.”
Brady first agreed to purchase a stake in the Raiders in May 2023, just a few months after retiring from his iconic playing career. His ownership deal includes a 10% stake in the organization, which he splits with his business partner, Tom Wagner.
However, the process to finalize Brady’s role was delayed for 17 months due to concerns from other NFL owners, particularly surrounding his existing 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox Sports, where he is set to serve as the lead NFL analyst.
Brady’s dual role as an NFL co-owner and a Fox Sports analyst became a central point of contention during the approval process. The NFL imposed several limitations on Brady in his capacity as a Raiders co-owner to avoid conflicts of interest.
He is prohibited from accessing another team’s facility, attending practices, or participating in broadcast production meetings—either virtually or in person. Additionally, Brady is restricted from publicly criticizing game officials or other teams, and he must adhere to the league’s gambling and anti-tampering policies.
In his statement, Brady thanked several key figures for their support throughout the process, saying, “I’d like to thank Mark Davis for welcoming me into his family, and the tireless work he’s done to help build on the organization that so many fans know and love today. Also, thank you to Commissioner Goodell for his support as well as all the NFL owners that supported my dream—I’m forever grateful.”
Brady also expressed his eagerness to contribute to the Raiders’ success, adding, “I’m eager to contribute to the organization in any way I can, honoring the Raiders’ rich tradition while finding every possible opportunity to improve our offering to fans… and most importantly, WIN football games.”
The Raiders are the latest addition to Brady’s growing business portfolio. In recent years, the future Hall of Famer has invested in several sports teams, including the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, EFL Championship team Birmingham City, Major League Pickleball’s Las Vegas Night Owls, and the E1 Series in electric boat racing.
While Brady’s arrival in the Raiders’ front office has sparked optimism and excitement, the team itself has been struggling on the field. Interim head coach Antonio Pierce has led the Raiders to a 2-4 start, placing them fourth in the AFC West.
As they prepare to face the Los Angeles Rams on October 20, followed by a matchup against the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on the 27th, the Raiders hope to turn their season around.
With Brady now officially part of the organization, the Raiders not only gain one of the most successful figures in NFL history but also a potential catalyst for their future success.
The spotlight is now on the legendary quarterback-turned-owner as he embarks on his latest venture in the world of professional sports.
