We’re learning a lot about Angel Reese during her WNBA offseason, and it’s clear she’s making the most of her time away from the court. The Chicago Sky All-Star has been embracing her fun side, whether it’s stepping out in bold, eye-catching outfits, showing off her dance moves, or proudly supporting her hometown Baltimore Ravens as their unofficial good-luck charm.
Reese has even made headlines for a playful moment singing alongside the much-shorter Usher during a recent event.
But the latest revelation about Reese has sparked some sibling rivalry between her and her younger brother, Julian “JuJu” Reese. Julian, 21, recently claimed that his older sister shoots left-handed because she grew up wanting to be just like him. Angel, of course, wasn’t about to let that one slide without a response.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Angel clapped back at Julian, calling him out and saying he was “lying.” The playful exchange between the two showed their close bond, but it also gave fans a glimpse into Angel’s basketball upbringing.

Angel Reese is ambidextrous, capable of using both hands on the court, but she does prefer to shoot with her left hand. With a recent wrist injury to her left hand, fans might see her rely more on her right hand in the upcoming season. Regardless, her versatility has always been one of her greatest strengths on the court.
Angel and Julian grew up playing basketball together in Maryland and even attended the same high school, where their sibling rivalry likely fueled their development. Julian, now a star senior forward for the Maryland Terrapins, had an impressive junior season, averaging 13.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
The two often credit each other for shaping their basketball careers, and Julian has called Angel “an inspiration” in the past.
As Angel continues to enjoy her time off the court, fans are eagerly awaiting her return to action in January when she’ll suit up for the new 3-on-3 Unrivaled league in Miami.
Until then, we might see more fun moments like her social media banter with Julian, and hopefully, she’ll make time to support him at some of his Maryland games this season.
The sibling dynamic between Angel and Julian is one of mutual support, competition, and plenty of playful teasing, making them both stars to watch on and off the court.
