Flau’jae Johnson has plenty to celebrate both on and off the basketball court, but the standout LSU guard admits she’s still bothered by the online trolls who surfaced after the Lady Tigers’ loss to Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the regional finals. Despite her numerous achievements, the lingering comments from that game continue to frustrate her.
During an episode of her podcast, Best of Both Worlds, which she co-hosts with fellow LSU star Livvy Dunne, Flau’jae opened up about the harsh trolling she’s faced. She recalled some of the worst comments she received after the game, specifically the taunts from fans saying, “Clark owns you. Clark owns you,” referencing Iowa’s standout player, Caitlin Clark.
Flau’jae didn’t hold back as she described her emotional reaction to the online hate. “I was so mad, bruh. I was hot, hot, hot,” she said, admitting that she felt so fired up she was “ready to fight” after reading the disrespectful comments. What frustrates her most, she explained, is the barrage of negativity from people who likely have no real experience with the game. “It’s crazy when I go on a big platform like ESPN and see people hating on me—probably dudes who have never picked up a basketball, can’t run straight, got two left feet, and legs that look like arms.”

At just 20 years old, Flau’jae has become the undeniable leader of LSU’s Lady Tigers basketball team, and she’s hungry for revenge on the court. But she’s also thriving beyond basketball, making waves in the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) space. According to On3’s Women’s Top 100 NIL Rankings, Flau’jae is tied for second place alongside Dunne, earning a massive $1.4 million annually from her NIL deals. This success cements her status as not only a force in college sports but also a savvy businesswoman.
As Flau’jae continues to dominate both on and off the court, her message to the haters is clear: she’s winning in life, and that’s what truly matters.
The trolls may try to bring her down, but she’s focused on her game, her future, and proving the doubters wrong.
