The Chargers vs. Raiders game on Sunday was packed with action both on and off the field, as tensions ran high between the two AFC West rivals. While the game itself was intense, with the Chargers ultimately coming out on top, the real drama unfolded among fans, who engaged in several violent brawls throughout the day—both inside and outside SoFi Stadium.
One of the more chaotic altercations took place near one of the stadium’s parking lots, where fans of both teams clashed in a brutal fistfight. A fan wearing a Divine Deablo Raiders jersey found himself at the center of the melee when a Chargers supporter sporting a Derwin James jersey threw him to the ground.
As the situation escalated, a Raiders fan in a Maxx Crosby jersey tried to intervene and stop the fight. However, instead of de-escalating, the Crosby fan ended up getting punched in the face—by both the Raiders fan he was trying to help and a woman who had joined the fray.
The Deablo fan, already knocked to the ground once, was hit by another punch that sent him down again. That’s when the Crosby and James supporters unleashed a flurry of blows to his face, some of which bloodied the Raiders fan as onlookers captured the entire altercation on video. The footage shows both men landing multiple punches before stepping back momentarily.
Just when it seemed the fight might calm down, the woman involved jumped back into the mix, pulling the Crosby fan away from the pile. The situation took an even more violent turn when the Crosby fan, now fully engaged in the brawl, body-slammed the woman to the ground before walking away, leaving a scene of chaos in his wake.

The drama didn’t stop there. Inside SoFi Stadium, the violence spilled over into the stands, where Raiders and Chargers fans were caught on video exchanging punches. In one instance, two Raiders fans got into a heated altercation with a pair of Chargers backers, leading to an all-out brawl in the seating area.
Fans on both sides seemed fueled by the action on the field, which reached a boiling point late in the game.
As the Chargers pulled ahead, players from both teams also got into a scuffle. Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer and Raiders cornerback Jack Jones were ejected from the game after a late-game confrontation, adding to the already heightened tension between the divisional rivals.
The fan fights cast a shadow over what should have been a celebratory day for the Chargers organization. Despite the off-field chaos, the team secured a crucial win, marking head coach Jim Harbaugh’s first victory since returning to the NFL after his successful stint with the University of Michigan. The victory was a bright spot for the Chargers, but the violent scenes among fans left a sour note for many.
While fan rivalries are part of the excitement of NFL matchups, the violence witnessed at Sunday’s game highlights the need for better security and crowd management. As tensions between the Raiders and Chargers fans boiled over both inside and outside the stadium, it was a reminder that sportsmanship and respect for fellow fans should always come first, no matter how heated the game gets.
The Chargers’ win may have been the headline on the field, but for many, the disturbing fan fights were the lingering image of the day.
As the season progresses, teams and stadium officials will need to address these types of incidents to ensure a safer and more enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.
