The gymnastics superstar recently revealed that the luxurious Hermès bag she flaunted on social media after the 2024 Paris Olympics was actually a gift from her doting parents, Ronald and Nellie Biles.
Taking to Threads on Wednesday, Biles, 27, set the record straight about the high-end purchase. “My parents bought me my Hermès bag ?,” she shared, adding with a playful tone, “Don’t be mad at me, be mad at your parents.”
The revelation came shortly after Biles gave her followers a glimpse of her lavish shopping spree on Instagram.
Last Friday, she posted a series of photos to her Instagram Story, including a shot from inside the Paris Hermès store, a mecca of luxury filled with coveted Birkin and Kelly bags in a variety of sizes and sophisticated shades.
She also shared a picture of her new treasure, neatly tucked inside the iconic orange Hermès box, though she kept fans guessing by not revealing which specific bag she took home.
Her fans quickly came to her defense, making it clear that the Olympian had no reason to justify her fabulous purchase—or how she got it. One supporter wrote, “You don’t owe no hating ass, snotty nose, pocket watcher an explanation on how you got your Hermès handbag. People buy whatever they want, whenever they want, for themselves or others. Enjoy! ???????? All I hear is nothing but crickets now.”
Another echoed the sentiment, saying, “Girl, even if you bought yourself your own, I wouldn’t care! It’s your money, and you’re an Olympian. Like, go spend the money sis.”
