Team USA star Anthony Edwards celebrated a surprise birthday party in Paris on Sunday night during the Olympics, sources tell Page Six.
The NBA star turned 23 on August 5, just days before the American basketball squad heads to the quarterfinals against Brazil on Tuesday at the Paris games.
Insiders revealed that Edwards’ party took place at the Parisian Italian eatery Giulia. The guest list included members of the USA men’s and women’s basketball teams, the gymnastics team, family members, and Timberwolves owner Alex Rodriguez.
A source told Page Six about the scene, “Anthony and A-Rod were hanging out all night.”

Edwards has been a standout star of the Olympics both on and off the court.
In the team’s last game, the Timberwolves star poured in 26 points on 11-for-15 shooting, while future Hall of Famers Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant took a backseat.
Off the court, Edwards became a viral sensation when Curry called him across a Team USA boat at the games’ opening ceremonies.
Curry mentioned that the US women’s table tennis team believed they could keep the Timberwolves star scoreless in a hypothetical match. Curry brought some of the team members, including Lily Zhang, Amy Wang, and Rachel Sung, over to Edwards, who playfully accepted the challenge.
“I got some people telling me they could beat me in ping pong 21-0,” Edwards said into a microphone. “I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it. I don’t believe it. I’m not having it.”
Edwards was later seen cheering on the table tennis squad in the stands. The ping pong players reciprocated by attending a basketball team practice and greeting Curry and Edwards.
Additionally, USA teammate Kevin Durant wished Edwards a happy birthday on social media, adding to the festive spirit.
Edwards’ surprise birthday celebration and his playful interactions with fellow athletes have only heightened his popularity, making him a beloved figure at the Paris Olympics.
