With weather issues plaguing last night’s NFL Hall of Fame Game, SportsCenter’s NFL panelists took the opportunity to share some of their bold predictions for the upcoming season.
Among them, one anchor made a particularly striking claim involving New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and pop star Taylor Swift.
ESPN’s Nicole Briscoe noted that Swift attended 13 Kansas City Chiefs games during the 2023 NFL season. She boldly predicted that in 2024, Swift will attend more NFL games than Rodgers will play.
“Taylor Swift attended 13 Chiefs games last season,” Briscoe said, via Awful Announcing. “This season, she will attend more games than Aaron Rodgers will play.”

While this may seem like a daring prediction, it isn’t without precedent.
Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the first quarter of Week 1 last year, which limited his playing time significantly. Essentially, Briscoe is suggesting that history might repeat itself.
Had she made this prediction at the same time last year, it would have been seen as groundbreaking and almost clairvoyant. Now, given Rodgers’ recent injury history and the challenges he faces, it appears more plausible.
Rodgers is coming off a lengthy recovery from surgery and will be playing for a Jets team with a potentially shaky offensive line. Key players like Tyron Smith and Alijah Vera-Tucker have been prone to injuries, while others such as Olu Fashanu and Joe Tippman lack extensive experience.
Meanwhile, Swift is expected to be a regular presence at Chiefs games, barring any conflicts with her concert schedule. Unlike Rodgers or any other player on the Jets, she faces no risk of injury that could keep her from attending games.
So, is Briscoe’s prediction truly bold? Given Rodgers’ recent track record and the fact that Swift is likely to continue supporting her partner, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, it might be more realistic than revolutionary. However, it still stirs up excitement and speculation as the NFL season approaches, highlighting the unpredictable nature of sports and entertainment.
As fans eagerly await the start of the season, Briscoe’s prediction adds an intriguing subplot to follow, blending the worlds of football and pop culture in a way that captures the imagination of a broad audience.
