Aaron Rodgers has some playful advice for Jordan Love on how to handle the $220 million contract he recently secured with the Green Bay Packers.
“Congratulations to Jordan Love for becoming the highest-paid player in the NFL. J-Love, don’t spend it all in one place,” Rodgers quipped during an appearance on NFL Network Saturday. “But if you do, I still have a house in Green Bay that’s up for sale.”
Rodgers, who officially left Green Bay in April 2023, seems to be having some difficulty selling his property there. With Love now earning an impressive $55 million annually, he might be in a position to help his predecessor out.
The details of Love’s deal are remarkable. According to ESPN, the contract includes a record $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in full guarantees. The annual average of $55 million ties him for the highest salary in NFL history.

Love, who was drafted in 2020 as a future successor to Rodgers, had an outstanding first year as a starter. He threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns, leading the Packers to the postseason and a victory in the wild-card round. His ascension likely hastened Rodgers’ departure from Green Bay.
Rodgers, now with the New York Jets, had his season cut short after just four snaps due to a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. This injury derailed the Jets’ season, which had been filled with high expectations following Rodgers’ arrival.
Now, rejuvenated after a trip to Egypt, Rodgers is eager to make an impact in the upcoming season. “As for my beloved Jets fans, I got to meet a great one out in Tahoe, and he’s passionate just like the rest of you,” Rodgers said on NFL Network. “It’s going to be an up and down season. Probably a lot more ups than downs, but just stick with us. Obviously, we want to stay healthy, and we’ve got big dreams.
“It’s been a rough stretch the last 13 years, but the tide is turning.”
As Rodgers looks to rebound with the Jets, Love is stepping into his new role as the Packers’ franchise quarterback, armed with a substantial contract and high expectations.
Fans will be watching closely to see how both quarterbacks navigate the upcoming season, each with their own set of challenges and aspirations.
