Congratulations are in order for University of Texas football coach Jeff Banks.
This week, the assistant head coach took to Instagram to announce that he and his longtime girlfriend, Danielle Thomas, have recently tied the knot.
“Incredible 72 hours with our family and closest friends! We truly love you all. Now off to Barcelona for our honeymoon!” the 49-year-old Banks wrote, sharing his joy and excitement with his followers.
Danielle Thomas, a former dancer known by her stage name “Pole Assassin,” has a colorful past that includes an appearance on “The Jerry Springer Show,” according to ESPN.
However, the details of how Banks, who serves as the assistant head coach, tight ends coach, and special teams coordinator for the Longhorns, met Thomas remain unclear.
The couple’s marriage comes three years after they made headlines due to an unusual incident involving Thomas’ pet monkey. In 2021, Banks and Thomas were sued by Amy and Casey Clinkenbeard on behalf of their child, who was allegedly bitten by Thomas’ monkey during a haunted house event at Banks’ home. The lawsuit identified Thomas as “Pole Assassin,” linking her stage persona to the incident.
Banks and Thomas exchanged vows on July 20 at Superstition, a venue in Austin, Texas. A video shared by The Day Of wedding planning service on Instagram captured the couple holding hands at the altar while being showered with rose petals, celebrating their union in front of loved ones.
Last month, Banks paid a heartfelt tribute to Thomas on Instagram for her birthday, tagging her under the username “@poleassassin_.” However, as of Thursday, that profile no longer exists.
As the newlyweds embark on their honeymoon in Barcelona, they leave behind a trail of memorable moments and intriguing stories, marking the beginning of their new chapter together.
The football community and their friends and family undoubtedly wish them all the best in their journey ahead.
