Even though LeBron James is thousands of miles away in Europe preparing for the Paris games with Team USA, the Los Angeles Lakers star has still been making time to watch his son Bronny’s NBA summer league games.
And what kind of a sports dad would he be if he didn’t offer Bronny some advice?
Bronny revealed what his father has been telling him throughout his summer league performances during a postgame interview after the Lakers’ 87-86 win over the Atlanta Hawks. “Stay aggressive,” Bronny said, quoting his father. “Even though my shot hasn’t been falling, just to stay aggressive.”

The Lakers’ victory over the Hawks on Wednesday marked their first summer league win, a game that also showcased Bronny’s most impressive performance to date.
The former Trojan guard scored 12 points, hitting 5-of-11 from the field and making his first three-pointers as a professional, going 2-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Despite these highlights, Bronny’s overall summer league showing has been less than stellar. The second-round draft pick has averaged just 4.3 points per game and experienced a rough stretch where he missed all 15 of his three-point attempts in his first four games.
However, Bronny remains focused on the positives and is particularly excited about the prospect of playing alongside his father in the upcoming season. “I feel like playing together, going to work together every day is just gonna build the relationship we already have, build that connection even stronger,” Bronny told reporters on Wednesday. “I’m excited to get to work with my dad.”
The Lakers have two final summer league games in Las Vegas this week against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls. As Bronny continues to find his footing in the NBA, the support and guidance from his father will undoubtedly play a crucial role in his development and confidence on the court.
