Caitlin Clark broke another WNBA record during her outstanding rookie season, but her achievement was overshadowed by frustration over her team’s performance.
On Tuesday night, Clark once again made history with an impressive stat line during the Indiana Fever’s game against the Dallas Wings. She set a new WNBA single-game assists record by dishing out 19 assists.
Despite the record-breaking performance, Clark was visibly frustrated by her team’s inability to secure a win. She was seen slamming a water bottle on the sidelines, clearly upset with the outcome of the game.

After the game, Clark expressed her frustrations during a post-game interview. “It’s kind of frustrating. I feel like we’ve left two games out there that are very winnable for us going into the break. The Mystics at home and then obviously this one. Then we’ve won other matchups that are really tough… you can’t leave these opportunities.”
Despite her frustrations, Clark remained humble when discussing her new record. “I mean –– I just try to set my teammates up for success.”
Clark’s ability to balance personal achievements with a team-first mentality highlights her competitive spirit and dedication to the game.
As she continues to break records and push the boundaries of what a rookie can achieve, her focus remains on helping her team succeed and securing those crucial wins.
