Bronny James has faced some challenges during his initial Summer League games with the Los Angeles Lakers.
However, the No. 55 pick in this year’s NBA draft showed significant improvement during Wednesday night’s victory over the Atlanta Hawks, where he scored a personal best of 12 points as a professional.
James started the game strong, sinking a 17-foot jumper on the Lakers’ first possession. Later, he achieved a milestone by making his first three-pointer of the summer, a particularly gratifying moment as he had missed all 15 of his previous three-point attempts.
In his postgame interview with ESPN, James appeared visibly relieved and pleased. When asked about his feelings after finally making a three-pointer, he responded, “Really good. It felt really good.” The interview concluded with James sharing a heartfelt hug with his coach, JJ Redick, before heading to the locker room.
