A’ja Wilson had her very own “Mamba” moment after the Las Vegas Aces fell at home in an upset loss to the visiting Chicago Sky on Tuesday night.
Despite Wilson’s spectacular performance, with 28 points and 14 rebounds, her double-double wasn’t enough to prevent the Aces from being overpowered on their home court in a 93-85 defeat.
Wilson’s frustration was palpable after the game, and it only intensified when she saw her teammates lining up for pictures with legendary singer and songwriter Usher.
“They ain’t did [expletive] all day, but they want to take a [expletive] pic with Usher,” Wilson said.

In the game, Wilson and Jackie Young were the only two Aces starters to score in double figures. However, the team’s primary issue was their defense, which allowed 50 points in the paint.
Wilson’s fierce competitiveness is reminiscent of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who was known for his relentless drive and intensity in every game. Wilson is clearly channeling that same energy on the court.
The Aces are currently vying for the top spot in the Western Conference, competing with the Seattle Storm and Minnesota Lynx.
After the game, Wilson shook Usher’s hand and hugged him, but she likely had a stern conversation with her teammates once they were back in the locker room.
The road ahead doesn’t get any easier for the Aces, as they are set to face the top-ranked New York Liberty on Wednesday afternoon. This upcoming contest will be a significant test for the team as they aim to bounce back and solidify their standing in the conference.
