The action on the court in the WNBA has only been part of the league’s narrative this season. Off the court, players have been making waves with their impeccable fashion sense, and it’s become a topic of much discussion and admiration.
This year, dozens of WNBA athletes have showcased an elevated and distinctive sense of style.
But who stands out as the best dressed? That’s subjective, of course, but Bleacher Report’s Sara Civian has shared her insights on the league’s top fashion icons.
Civian, who has a track record of ranking fashion in the NHL, released her top 10 best-dressed list for the first half of the WNBA season on Tuesday. Topping her list is none other than six-time All-Star and Seattle Storm guard Skylar Diggins-Smith.
Civian went even further, proclaiming Diggins-Smith as the best-dressed professional athlete across all sports. She praised her for displaying unparalleled “creativity, range, consistency, individuality, taste, versatility, runway chic, and innovation.”

“Every single outfit Diggins-Smith wears is a geometric, sensory, cinematic experience,” Civian wrote. “I’m using way too many adjectives because her style is so elusive and tough to pin down in a way I’ve been craving. While a good number of active athletes are properly informed by the runway and look great, it feels like Diggins-Smith is informing the runway. She should be.”
In addition to Diggins-Smith, several rookies made Civian’s top 10 list, including Angel Reese, Nika Muhl, and Rickea Jackson, highlighting the fresh and dynamic fashion emerging in the league.
Yet, it is the 33-year-old Diggins-Smith, who is not only a style icon but also a powerhouse on the court, averaging 13.3 points and 6.5 assists per game this season for one of the WNBA’s top teams, who stands alone at the top. Her influence both on and off the court continues to grow, setting a high bar for athletic and fashion excellence.
