Deion Sanders had a joyous reason to celebrate this weekend, and it had nothing to do with the release of EA Sports’ “College Football 25.”
The NFL legend’s oldest child, Deiondra Sanders, got engaged to her partner, R&B singer Jacquees. The proposal took place during an extravagant party surrounded by their loved ones.
On Sunday, Jacquees shared a heartfelt video of the proposal on Instagram. In a separate post, he expressed his love and gratitude in a touching letter to Deiondra.
“I thank God for you honestly,” Jacquees wrote. “I always wanted to be the man of a woman’s dreams the way that you see me. I know I can be. I know I am. Our baby boy is going to be so blessed, babe!”
Deiondra and Jacquees began dating in 2023, and their relationship has blossomed since then. In March, they announced they were expecting a child together. Deiondra took to Instagram to share her journey and the challenges she had faced.
“Even though this was not planned nor expected, this is still something God allowed to happen. I’m not having my baby to keep a man. I am having my baby for all the times I was told I wouldn’t be able to,” Deiondra wrote. “I’m having my baby for the four myomectomy surgeries I have had. I am having my baby for all the years I stayed on birth control even though it gave me breast tumors. I’m having my baby for all the Doctors that told me I wouldn’t make it out the first trimester. I’m having a baby for the seven current fibroids that surround my uterus to this day.”
Deiondra’s announcement of her pregnancy was met with applause and support from her father. While Deion Sanders has yet to publicly comment on her engagement, it is likely that Coach Prime is thrilled for his daughter’s happiness.
