NFL star Travis Kelce surprised comedian Nikki Glaser and thrilled fans at Taylor Swift’s Amsterdam Eras Tour concert on Saturday.
Glaser attended Swift’s shows at the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam with her parents. She was taken aback when she witnessed Kelce sprinting backstage.
“We’re on our way out early and we just spotted Travis sprinting through the halls to get backstage,” Glaser shared in a TikTok video. “I’ve met him before, but I didn’t have time to say anything but, ‘We love you, Travis.’ And we do.”
Fans praised Kelce’s romantic gesture, describing it as “marriage material.” Glaser also raved about Swift’s performance, stating, “She put on an amazing three shows in Amsterdam. We’re grateful to be born in the same time that Taylor Swift lives. It’s a privilege and an honor. Best artist ever alive. It’s like seeing The Beatles. It will be talked about like, ‘You saw Taylor Swift live?’”
Kelce watched Swift’s concert from a VIP box before rushing backstage to be with her. One video captured the moment Kelce greeted Swift after her performance, putting his arm around her and seemingly giving her a kiss on the top of her head. They left the arena hand in hand, with Kelce encouraging more cheers from the crowd.
Kelce was visibly emotional during Swift’s unexpected three-song mashup. He appeared to shed a tear as he sang along to the medley, which started with “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)” from her 2006 debut album, marking the first time she performed it live in 16 years. She then transitioned to “So High School” from her latest record and “Everything Has Changed” from 2012’s Red.
Fans speculated that the setlist change was a tribute to Kelce, who was accompanied in the VIP suite by his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes and Mahomes’ wife Brittany. Kelce was seen swaying and singing along to the music before being consoled by Brittany and appearing to wipe away a tear.
“There were 50k+ fans watching her sing her personal love letter to Travis,” commented one fan on X. “This love is so deep and reciprocated for both of them! They were the only two people in that stadium at this moment, this was special. Tay is his world,” added another. “Kelce’s are emotional,” chimed in a third.
Swift now has three days of rest before continuing her tour with two dates in Zurich, Switzerland. She will then perform 10 more shows across Italy and Germany before the end of the month.
