Rory McIlroy and his wife, Erica Stoll, seem to be going strong after recently deciding to stay together.
The couple, who had called off their divorce last month following McIlroy’s filing in May, were seen enjoying a dinner with his fellow Ryder Cup teammates in London.
This moment was captured in a photo shared by Diane Donald, the wife of Team Europe’s captain Luke Donald, on her Instagram Story on Sunday.
The group photo included McIlroy and Stoll, along with other notable golfers and their partners: Tommy Fleetwood and his wife Clare, Shane Lowry and his wife Wendy, Tyrrell Hatton and his wife Emily, and Nicolai Højgaard with his girlfriend Amanda Falkenberg.
The dinner celebrated the European team’s dominating performance against the Americans in Rome this past September, where they secured a 16 1/2-11 1/2 victory.
This gathering followed Luke Donald’s participation in the BMW International Open in Germany over the weekend. It also came in the wake of McIlroy’s recent heartbreak at the U.S. Open on June 16, compounded by intense media scrutiny about his personal life.

McIlroy had filed for divorce on May 13, citing an “irrevocably broken” marriage. However, the divorce filing was voluntarily dismissed by a court in Palm Beach County, Florida, where the couple resides, as confirmed by Page Six last month.
“There have been rumors about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate. Responding to each rumor is a fool’s game,” McIlroy, 35, stated to The Guardian on June 11. “Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was as a family together. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
After this public reconciliation, McIlroy and Stoll were spotted together with their 3-year-old daughter, Poppy, the day after McIlroy narrowly lost to Bryson DeChambeau at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. Both were seen wearing their wedding rings, signaling their renewed commitment to each other.
Stoll’s absence from the U.S. Open had fueled rumors about their marital strife, which also included speculations linking McIlroy with CBS reporter Amanda Balionis. Balionis, who is married to former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner since 2022, interviewed McIlroy after his victory at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow on May 12, just before the news of his divorce filing became public.
Rory McIlroy is set to return to the course this week at the Genesis Scottish Open, starting Thursday in Scotland. As he prepares for this tournament, his recent personal developments suggest a renewed focus and support from his family, marking a fresh chapter in both his personal and professional life.
