Angel Reese’s recent postgame press conference took an unexpected turn when it was interrupted by an embarrassing and inappropriate conversation that accidentally aired.
The Chicago Sky rookie was being interviewed alongside head coach Teresa Weatherspoon and teammate Marina Mabrey after her historic 13th consecutive double-double against the Seattle Storm on Sunday. As the session was underway, a hot mic picked up a private conversation that should never have been broadcasted.
“Are we ever going to have an intimate relationship?” a female voice was heard asking.
Clearly confused, Reese responded, “I’m sorry, the last part cut off.”
The awkwardness escalated as a man’s voice chimed in, “Oh my, that’s an uncomfortable topic.”
“Excuse me?” Reese remarked, visibly perplexed.
A Sky staffer attempted to regain control of the situation by asking the reporter to repeat their question, but the off-topic conversation continued.
“I never had any interest in being intimate with anyone,” the man replied.
The unexpected dialogue left Reese, Weatherspoon, and Mabrey visibly surprised, with Reese covering her mouth in shock.
Mabrey tried to lighten the mood, laughing, “I told you they were being weird on that.”
“What’s going on?” another person inquired.
“Somebody’s microphone is on,” someone explained.
“Oooo, they finna get fired,” Reese mouthed, just before the call went mute for a moment.

The source of the awkwardness was later identified as “a live audio feed of a slightly risqué scene from the TV show ‘Big Bang Theory’ on WGN that mistakenly got onto the Zoom feed,” according to Poe reports.
Despite the bizarre interruption, Angel Reese continued to make WNBA history. She scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, securing her 13th consecutive double-double. This achievement surpassed the previous record set by Candace Parker between 2009 and 2010.
Reese’s milestone is a testament to her extraordinary talent and consistency, even as she navigates unexpected and uncomfortable moments off the court.
As she continues her impressive rookie season, fans and teammates alike look forward to seeing what she will accomplish next.
