The USA men’s basketball team assembled in Las Vegas this weekend to kick off their practice sessions for the upcoming Paris Olympics, set to begin later this month.
Among the notable absences from the NBA Summer League action was LeBron James, who was unable to attend his son Bronny James’s debut game due to his commitments with Team USA.
Despite not being present in person, LeBron James ensured he didn’t miss out on his son’s first taste of NBA Summer League action. Cameras captured the proud father watching highlights of Bronny’s performance, which included a memorable moment: Bronny’s first basket, an impressive driving, acrobatic layup.

LeBron, visibly excited, couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm as he watched the clip. “Come on man, that’s tough. That’s tough!” he exclaimed, clearly proud of his son’s effort.
However, Bronny’s debut wasn’t without its challenges. The young guard struggled with his shooting, managing to hit only two of his nine field goal attempts, resulting in a total of four points.
Additionally, Bronny ended the game with a team-worst plus-minus rating of -15 in the Lakers’ 108–94 loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Despite the rocky start, the Lakers’ Summer League team is set to return to action on Sunday evening, facing off against the Golden State Warriors. This upcoming game offers Bronny another opportunity to showcase his talent and resilience.
LeBron James, balancing his duties with the national team and his role as a supportive father, continues to be a central figure in the basketball world. His dedication to both his own career and his son’s development highlights the unique bond they share, as Bronny begins to carve out his own path in the NBA.
As the Olympics draw nearer and the Summer League progresses, fans eagerly anticipate more memorable moments from both LeBron and Bronny, each making their mark on the sport in their own ways.
