There was no sign of awkwardness for Travis Kelce when he met Julia Roberts last weekend—at least, none that he would admit to.
Kelce recounted his encounter with the Hollywood star inside a VIP tent at Taylor Swift’s final show in Dublin last Sunday.
“I met Julia Roberts in Ireland, in Dublin,” Kelce shared on the latest edition of the “New Heights” podcast. “That was pretty cool.” He described Roberts as “awesome,” although he did not address the online controversy regarding her behavior towards him.

Kelce had high praise for Stevie Nicks, who was with Roberts and also spent time with Kelce and Swift. “She is every bit of whatever everyone makes her out to be,” Kelce said of the legendary “Edge of Seventeen” singer. “She is so awesome. … Some of these people you meet and you’re like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing here. You are unbelievable … and I am just a jabroni supporting his girlfriend.’ It’s just so much fun.”
The encounter with Roberts stirred some controversy online. A fan-recorded video shared on social media showed Roberts appearing to get a bit too handsy with Kelce during their conversation.
This sparked reactions, including from comedian Nikki Glaser’s parents, who called out the “Notting Hill” star before later publicly apologizing.
Despite the buzz, Kelce focused on the positive aspects of his interaction with Roberts and Nicks, highlighting the surreal and enjoyable experience of mingling with such iconic figures while supporting his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, on her tour.
