The NBA hot stove is heating up.
The Golden State Warriors are actively exploring trade opportunities for Andrew Wiggins, a significant contributor to their 2022 championship victory, as they seek to recalibrate their roster this offseason.
According to Logan Murdock of The Ringer, who cited insider sources, the team is prepared to “aggressively dangle” Wiggins in trade discussions.
Wiggins played a crucial role during the Warriors’ latest championship run, particularly in the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics.
During those finals, he not only averaged 18.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game but also delivered outstanding defensive performances, notably against Boston’s star player, Jayson Tatum.
However, Wiggins’ form has seen fluctuations since that high point.
Last season, he faced challenges integrating consistently into the Warriors’ offensive strategies, culminating in a career-low average of 13.2 points over 27 minutes per game.

With two more seasons left on his current contract, including a substantial $30.2 million player option for the 2026-27 season, the Warriors are considering trade possibilities as part of a broader strategy to reshape their lineup.
The potential trade of Wiggins isn’t the only move being considered by Warriors’ general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. this summer.
Reports also suggest that Golden State is looking into trading veteran guard Chris Paul, who carries a $30 million non-guaranteed salary for the 2024-25 season—a figure that will become guaranteed shortly.
Furthermore, the Warriors face decisions regarding Klay Thompson, an impending free agent, and are reportedly interested in acquiring star forward Paul George.
These potential moves come in the wake of a somewhat disappointing season for the Warriors, who finished with a 46–36 record and were eliminated in the play-in tournament.
With the core of Steph Curry and Draymond Green still intact, significant changes could be on the horizon as the team aims to return to the upper echelons of the NBA.
The Warriors’ front office appears committed to making bold decisions to ensure the team remains competitive in the evolving NBA landscape.
