Conor McGregor has recently addressed the public and his fans following his withdrawal from the highly anticipated UFC 303 bout against Michael Chandler, scheduled for June 29th. The UFC confirmed last week that McGregor would not be participating due to an injury incurred during his training camp, sparking widespread speculation and rumors about his condition.
In response to the growing conjecture, including rumors of rehab, McGregor took to social media to clarify the nature of his injury and the circumstances surrounding it. He revealed that he sustained a broken toe while sparring. The injury occurred in a moment of oversight when he and his team opted not to use full protective gear during the session. “We had a lapse in concentration and engaged in a training session without wearing the full protective gear and I hit the toe off the elbow and broke the toe clean,” McGregor explained.
Describing his disappointment, McGregor expressed his frustration and the emotional impact of the setback, particularly given his preparations for the fight. “Man we were so f—ing super ready for this fight it is absolutely gut-wrenching to take,” he stated. Despite the setback, McGregor is optimistic about his recovery, noting that the injury will only sideline him for a few weeks: “It needs a few weeks, that’s it. I couldn’t justify to my team, or fans, that I make the walk hindered again.”

McGregor also reflected on his future aspirations and the luxuries he plans to afford, underscoring his determination to return stronger. “I’ve got two fights left on my contract. I’ve got Bugattis and more yachts on my mind. I’m coming to shine. I gotta just take my time. ‘Cos I still got yachts and Bentleys and mansions and all the rest. Ya know yaself. But ya get me, I’ll be back.”
As McGregor anticipates his return to the Octagon, he remains a prominent figure in the sports world, eagerly awaiting the next opportunity to compete. Unfortunately, with the UFC’s schedule taking the fights overseas in the upcoming months, it remains uncertain whether McGregor will feature on a new pay-per-view card in early September or if his return will be postponed until the later events planned for November or December.
Despite these challenges, McGregor’s statement ended on a high note, promising his fans, “See ya’s soon. See ya at the top. Chandler or not. #McGTheRealBMF #McGregorForever #GoingNowhere,” indicating his unwavering resolve to return to his peak form and continue dominating in the ring.
