The Dallas Mavericks have shown a keen interest in selecting USC guard Bronny James with their 58th pick in the upcoming NBA draft, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
This selection, however, represents the final pick of the draft, and there are growing doubts within the Mavericks organization regarding James’ availability at that stage.
Bronny James, who is the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, is currently anticipated to be picked earlier in the second round.
This estimation puts the Mavericks in a challenging position as they try to secure his talents, especially considering their late drafting position due to other teams’ forfeiture of picks.
Both the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns have lost their second-round selections as a result of tampering violations, which consequently leaves Dallas with the very last draft pick.

The Los Angeles Lakers, his father’s team, hold the 17th and 55th picks, while the Suns will make their selection at the 22nd spot.
During his single season at USC, the 19-year-old James played in 25 games, where he posted averages of 4.8 points and 2.1 assists per game. His shooting percentages stood at 36.5% from the field and 26.7% from beyond the arc, showcasing his developing skills.
The draft is scheduled to start with its first round on June 26, followed by the second round on the subsequent day.
As these dates approach, the speculation around Bronny James’ draft position intensifies, highlighting the interest in his potential NBA career and the strategic decisions of the teams involved.
