Someone needs a mulligan.
The Kansas City Chiefs recently unveiled their new Super Bowl ring, which is not only one of the largest but also one of the most lavishly decorated rings in NFL history.
Adorned with 529 diamonds and 38 rubies, the ring represents a true symbol of the team’s hard-earned success, celebrating their third championship win in the past five years under the leadership of stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. However, amidst the sparkle and celebration, a notable error has been spotted on this otherwise magnificent piece.
This mistake resides on the inside band of the ring, where the Chiefs had the details of their postseason journey inscribed to commemorate their path to victory. The ring correctly lists their wins against the Dolphins, Bills, Ravens, and 49ers.
Yet, an error appears with the seeding number of the Miami Dolphins, their opponents in the playoff game held at Arrowhead Stadium in January. The ring erroneously marks the Dolphins as the No. 7 seed, whereas they were actually the No. 6 seed during the playoffs.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were the team that held the No. 7 seed position.

The responsibility for this oversight is still unclear.
Inquiries have been made to Jostens, the renowned jewelry maker known for crafting these intricate pieces, but there has been no response from them regarding the matter at the time of reporting.
There has been no official word yet on whether the Kansas City Chiefs plan to recall the rings to correct this misprint. Despite this slip-up, the mood among the players as they received their rings was undeniably jubilant.
The sheer number of diamonds and the vibrant rubies embedded in each ring seemed to overshadow the significance of the error for many, as evidenced by the joyous expressions on the players’ faces during the unveiling ceremony on Thursday night.
This incident, while minor, underscores the challenges and meticulous attention to detail required in commemorating such significant achievements.
The rings, meant to be flawless symbols of victory, remind us that even in moments of great triumph, imperfections can arise. Yet, for the Chiefs and their fans, the excitement of the occasion and the beauty of the rings themselves are likely to remain the focus of their celebrations.
