Caitlin Clark recently led the Indiana Fever to their third victory, overcoming the Washington Mystics with a close 85-83 score on Friday night.
In this matchup, the former Iowa standout delivered an impressive performance, scoring 30 points along with securing eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
Before the game, Clark discussed a challenging ear injury that has been affecting her hearing. “I don’t want to explain it. It’d probably be pretty gross, but no, I feel fine. I can’t hear great out of one of my ears,” she mentioned, managing a smile despite the discomfort.
Despite her auditory setback, Clark shined brightly on the court, marking her best game yet in her nascent WNBA career by leading all scorers.

Post-game, Clark also addressed the media about the physical challenges of professional play, referencing a notable foul by Chennedy Carter that went viral. “I knew what I was getting into,” she stated, according to ESPN. “Maybe some people didn’t know the circumstances of the WNBA. But me, personally, I know it’s one of the best leagues in the world, the players are really good. I’ve been a big fan of this league all my life.”
She continued to reflect on her transition to professional sports: “You’re starting a new chapter, a new part of your career becoming a professional athlete. Not everything’s going to click overnight. Keep working and keep grinding, and it will come over time.”
Looking ahead, the Fever are set to face the Connecticut Sun on Monday night, a team they have already encountered twice this season with unfavorable outcomes.
