Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky moved to a 4-5 record this season following a Thursday night win over the Washington Mystics, with Reese enjoying a special boost from the stands at Capital One Arena.
Her college coach from LSU, Kim Mulkey, watched from courtside as Reese played at the professional level. The two shared a poignant celebration after the Sky secured the win.
The game was particularly memorable for Reese, a Maryland native, as she recorded her third career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, along with a personal best of five steals.
After the Sky clinched a 79-71 victory, Mulkey and Reese embraced in a heartfelt moment, and Reese also celebrated on the court with her family. Reese, who was selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, had previously won a national championship under Mulkey at LSU in 2023, defeating Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
