That’s one way to handle it.
During a recent episode of “Run It Back” with Michelle Beadle, Lou Williams, and Chandler Parsons, basketball icon Nancy Lieberman expressed her strong views on how she would have responded to the hard foul Chennedy Carter gave Caitlin Clark.
Lieberman didn’t mince words, stating that if she were in Clark’s shoes, she would have taken a more confrontational approach.
“Well, I mean if I were Caitlin Clark, I would’ve punched her in the face… I’m from New York, and I would have told her to back off,” Lieberman explained. She also expressed frustration with Clark’s teammates for not stepping in. “But, where are Caitlin Clark’s teammates? I’d be really upset if nobody came to my defense… This is unacceptable. Indiana needs to do better… People need to appreciate Caitlin Clark for being the generational talent that is making them successful… We should be celebrating her, not just tolerating her.”

The incident, involving Carter’s foul on Clark, has escalated in discussions, recently being classified as a Flagrant 1 by the WNBA after further review.
The play has ignited a storm of commentary, with some describing the foul as akin to an “assault,” while others suggest it reflects broader societal issues, including race.
One thing is clear from Lieberman’s comments—she would not have tolerated such an action without a strong response.
